The vineyards are mostly around the towns of Almansa, Alpera, Bonete, Corral-Rubio, Higueruela, Hoya-Gonzalo, Pétrola and El Villar de Chinchilla. ==History== During the Middle Ages, Almansa was a frontier region between Moorish and Christian kingdoms.
